for prospective parents:
Welcome message from the headteacher:
Thank you for choosing our school and a very warm welcome to Portfields Primary School.
Our vision is built around our logo: Tickford Bridge which is the oldest iron bridge in the world. This symbol of strength encompasses our vision and aims for each and every one of our school community. These can be linked to the experience we want our EYFS families to experience as their children start their school journey at Portfields.
- We quickly make connections and strong partnerships with our parents and community, we will have open and trusting relationships
- We foster an environment to enable children to lead learning with rich experiences which encourage independence
- We overcome obstacles together, encouraging children to take risks, make mistakes and confidently approach challenges
- We nurture and inspire futures enabling the children to develop a passion for life long learning
Our visit by Ofsted in October 2017 confirmed my "high expectations for the school" and how "pupils are excited and articulate when talking about their school."
I look forward to meeting you all as the term moves forward and once again, welcome you into the Portfields family.
